Looking for Health Insurance in Maricopa County?

AHCCCS Enrollment

Health-e-ArizonaPlus.gov offers enrollment services for the full range of AHCCCS benefits as well as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps) and Cash Assistance benefits. Health-e-Arizona Plus serves as a channel to the Federal Insurance Marketplace which will provide the Premium Tax Credit and Cost Sharing Reduction programs to help many Arizonans with the cost of health insurance. To sign up online or for AHCCCS questions, call 1-855-432-7587 (Eng/Sp) or visit Health-e-ArizonaPlus.gov.

 Federal Marketplace Enrollment

Open Enrollment for the Marketplace closed March 31, 2014. After Open Enrollment, you can enroll in private coverage through the Marketplace only if you have a qualifying life event or a complex situation related to applying in the Marketplace. If you do, you get a special enrollment period allowing you to buy a health insurance plan through the Marketplace.

Things to Remember

  • Beginning Jan 1, 2014, it is a federal law for anyone living in the United States legally to have health insurance unless you receive an exemption; there is a penalty for not having health insurance.
  • Individuals are considered insured if they have health insurance through an employer, Medicare, AHCCCS, KidsCare, certain VA coverage, IHS, an individual policy or a plan in the Marketplace.
  • Undocumented adult residents cannot receive health insurance through the Federal Marketplace or AHCCCS.
  • Young adults can stay on their parent's insurance plans until age 26.
