| Why this is important: Liver cancer is cancer that forms in the tissues of the liver. Liver and bile duct cancers are the sixth most common cause of cancer deaths among men and the tenth most common cause of cancer deaths among women in the United States. In the U.S. in 2009, it is estimated that there were 22,620 new cases and 18,160 deaths from liver cancer. |
